Culture

The culture of the region occupied by the Mangor tribe does not differ from the rest of Kurdistan to a great extent. However detail investigation of the way of life of the tribe reveals subtle differences in social life in the Mangor region. Increased role of women as a bread winner and naming of “Kadarweshi” clan after their mother are few examples of these differences. Hospitality, cheerfulness, bravery and generosity are few of the attributes of the Kurdish nation, of which Mangurs have inherited a fair share. These are well practiced within the tribe. Different types of songs such as Hayran, Lawk, and Bayt as well as night dancing and light hearted conversation are but a few of the pass times for the tribe. Sporting activities such as riding and hunting and few games special to the region such as Goyen, Topy dari…. have been practices in this region for many years.
