Kakdarwyshi

Approximately 400 years ago, when this region was occupied by the Ottoman Empire, the Shamzeenan family were the religious leaders of the region. They preached islam to the local area and spread it throughout the local region. They sent a man called Babe Derwesh to preach in the Mokoryan and Bolbas area.

Babe derwesh was sent initially sent to Mirawa, with his wife, Mamigon, and his brothers, Mullah Sryman and mullah Seman. During the 16 th century the Ottoman empires regional spiritual leader family Shex Shamzinan requested Baba derwesh to go to the Mokrian province, where he stayed in the Mirawa region.

He stayed in Mirawa preaching his whole life, and was also laid to rest there in Gerdirawkan, near the village of Goramar. The graveyard he is laid to rest in is named after him, Kawli Babe derweshi. Baba Derwesh had only one son, shams. Shams later also had a son and called him Shams Shamsan. Shams Shamsan had two sons, kheder and Amer.

Kheder had many children, the most well known being Bapir Agha. Bapir agha was strongly opposed to foreign attackers, thus gathered and united the Mangur tribe to fight against the ottoman empire. Bapir agha was invited by the leaders in the Maragha province to discuss the uprising of the people against the leaders in Tabriz in 1771. Bapir agha set of with a 1000 man territorial army to support the local people against the leaders in Tabriz.

Bapir agha was unaware of the plan set by the Tabriz leaders. The plan was a greatbetrayal against the Kurds. It was set out that these 1000 be split up into groups of 2 to 3, and stay with local families to rest in the evening. The Hosts were under orders to kill their guests whilst they were sleeping that night. Of these 1000 men, only one man survived. He rode back to Mokrian immediately to inform the people.

It was a great tragedy for the tribe, and for 15 years they were unable defend themselves, therefore many had to flee to different areas leaving the Mokrian area.

The new generation avenged their fathers deaths. Bapir agha of Marasha, had two surviving sons, Arahman and Amer. The children of Arahman were locally known as Zerakaderweshi. They now reside in Iranian and Iraqi Kurdistan.

Amer had only one son called Kheder. Kheder also had only son and named him Bapir agha the great. Bapir agha later became the leader of the whole Mangur tribe, and his decendants are known as the Kaderweshi and reside in Iranians and Iraqi Kurdistan.

In Kurdish culture there is a lot of respect for the women. Bapir Aghas children family names were taken from their mothers.
